K/T hospital complex Complex aggressively embarked on cancer awareness ,targeting more than 1800 outpatients and admitted under the theme “cancer can be beaten”. The initiative was part of KT hospital in partnership with Nedbank, who presented about 44 admitted cancer patient in Oncology unit and 36 chemotherapy and 33 radiation oncology therapy outpatients in Klerksdorp hospital with toiletry packs including Ginger Biscuits to help them through their stay for cancer treatment. Medical Male Circumcision Clinic

Gola Monna : Mature men

The Department of Health has formed a partnership with Perinatal HIV Research Unit to open two high volume Medical Male Circumcision (MMC) clinics at Klerksdorp/ Tshepong Hospital Complex and Potchefstroom Hospital. Gola Monna which means mature men in seTswana was the first to be opened officially by MEC Dr. Magome Masike in February. The programme is established to massively increase the number of circumcision in the sub-district with high prevalence of HIV/AIDS and to increase a number of circumcisions done to 50 per day in six month. Since operating in October 2012, the clinic has been able to do over 1 000 circumcisions; the number is predicted to increase during winter as the clinic has the capability of doing over 200 circumcisions per Read More
